A quick note on the 5 trim levels available on the new Camaro. Basically there is the base LS, LT and SS trim levels. The LT and SS have two levels each.
All five trim levels are (from lowest initial price to the highest – without additional options and add ons): LS, LT1, LT2, SS1 and SS2. The difference between the LT1, SS1 and the LT2, SS2 is that the number 2 level has some leather trim, Bluetooth wireless, USB port, more gauges and so on.

On the LT and SS levels there is also an optional “RS appearance package” which includes HID headlamps with integrated halo rings, spoiler, and RS-specific tail lamps and wheels.
The base LS and LT trim levels come with a GM LLT V6 producing 304 hp with either an automatic w/ tapshift or manual transmission option.
The SS engine varies slightly based on your transmission choice (all SS models have a V8 motor). The manual transmission SS comes with a GM LS3 V8 (Corvette engine) producing 426 hp. Choose the automatic transmission w/ tapshift (see video section below for demo) and the SS will be powered by a new variant of the LS3 Vette engine called the GM L99 which produces 400 hp and includes Active Fuel Management.
The Camaro SS V8 with an automatic transmission is said to be quicker (slightly) than the Camaro SS with a manual transmission.
