The Chevy Camaro GS racecar inspiration is said to have evolved from a Trans Am racer.

Besides the styling job on this Camaro, there are carbon fiber panels (hood, trunk, doors and panels), an oversize radiator and oil cooler, solid engine mounts, oversized exhaust, and a modified welding job implemented where necessary. The chassis is close to stock.

Many of these automobiles are introduced at the SEMA auto show.

The wicked looking Chevy Camaro Black is basically composed from simple aftermarket additions.

It is modified with:

  • Chevrolet ground effects package (plus a rear diffuser).
  • HID (high intensity discharge) headlamps w/ red “halo” ring
  • Dark tinting and blackout techniques throughout
  • 21” (inch) wheels
  • Leather covered seats
  • Brembo four-wheel disc brakes “aka” Camaro SS package
  • SS package spoiler
  • Stock audio upgrade package, along with MTX speakers
  • “Yawn”… 3.6L stock V-6 @ about 300 horsepower

Basically, the Chevrolet Camaro LS7 concept vehicle is a fairly easy conversion (concept).

What we are doing here, for the most part, is bolting in an LS7 (427 cubic inch – 7.0 liter muscle car era) aluminum block engine from the Z06 Corvette. You can buy this motor, over the shelf, from GM Performance Parts.

http://en.wikipedIncandescent bulb - Wikipedia article - opens in new window - American Metal Racing  Quick think: the LS9 from the ZR1 Corvette fits the Camaro engine bay too, though it might shred the transmission (drivetrain) without similar ZR1 Corvette drivetrain bullet proofing. The ZR1 (Corvette) tranny is basically a Z06 (Vette) transmission with hardened parts. The LS9 crate motor is a 638 horsepower factory stock Supercharged / Blown madness crate motor available from GM Performance Parts. The LS9 crate motor also carries a factory warranty.

Chevy Yenko 1967 Camaro muscle car - American Metal Racing

Quite a number of years back some of the 67 Camaro's were converted to Yenko 427 power by the famous Yenko Chevrolet of Cannonsburg, PA. They are the most popular idea of commercial Camaro insanity (muscle car cubic inches and weight reduction) which history has proven.
